  • We represent wrongfully injured parties with passion and focus. We provide powerful advocacy for clients in cases including automobile accidents, slip and falls, bicycle and pedestrian accidents, construction accidents, wrongful death, loss of consortium, product liability, and ultrahazardous activities. We are experienced litigators having worked in insurance defense and for injured clients. We therefore have a thorough understanding of how to best navigate insurance policies and deal with insurance carriers.

We work with developers, investors, project managers, contractors, subcontractors, lenders, and design professionals in bid preparation, crafting specifications, drafting construction and design agreements, and authoring loan documents. During the project cycle, we keep projects on track by assisting in early dispute resolution, change orders, and construction claims. We handle many construction disputes, including construction and design defects, building investigation and testing, insurance claims, lien and stop notice claims, payment and performance bond claims, cost overruns, delay and acceleration claims, differing site conditions, change orders, and Bureau of Labor and Industries and Construction Contractors Board complaints. We routinely assist clients in alternative dispute resolution proceedings, including mediation and arbitration.

ABOUT US


Nathan A. Hoerschelmann

Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Nathan is passionate about the Pacific Northwest, particularly its people. He believes deeply in being an active participant in the greater Seattle community.

He coaches youth soccer, lacrosse, and basketball. Nathan serves on the board of Safe Crossings Foundation, is a co-facilitator of the Madrona Racial Equity Team, serves on the Madrona Elementary School Building Leadership Team and is a regular speaker at Seattle Central College.

Nathan also provided legal advice as a membership reference attorney for American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) for years.

Prior to starting Hoerschelmann Dietz PLLC, Nathan worked in private practice, served as in-house counsel for several insurance entities, and corporate counsel for an international company. He owned and operated his own solo practice prior to partnering with Gabe.

Nathan has extensive experience in personal injury cases, construction litigation, and representing business owners across the country. He is a passionate advocate for artists, and particularly photographers. Nathan assists clients in all stages of the life cycle of their business ventures.

Nathan graduated from Whitman College and Willamette University College of Law. Nathan enjoys being active, particularly when it involves coercing his children into hiking.


Gabriel A. Dietz

As an engineer with a background in construction management, Gabe enjoys opportunities to provide a unique perspective, particularly in construction and real estate cases.

Gabe started his career working in house at a California building materials and construction company. Before forming Hoerschelmann Dietz PLLC, he practiced as a solo attorney with a focus on transactional work in business, construction, and real estate. He also worked as Of Counsel to a boutique law firm in Portland, Oregon where he served many clients in construction and real estate disputes.

Clients routinely seek Gabe's counsel in business advising, business entity formation, and real estate and construction document negotiation and drafting, such as real estate due diligence and sales, leases, easements, and construction agreements. Gabe also assists clients in business, construction, and real property disputes.

Gabe graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, a Masters in Construction Engineering and Management from Stanford University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Oregon School of Law.

In his spare time, Gabe enjoys traveling abroad to learn about other cultures and eat soul-stirring food. He takes yoga and jiu jitsu classes, and enjoys the natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest.
